Frequently Asked Questions.
A person’s pain tolerance is subjective so it is hard to gauge. There are some places that are more sensitive than others. Most folks describe it as like having a sunburn.
Most of our clients getting tattoos for the first time comment on how it is nothing compared to what they initially thought.
The best starting place would be to look over our website and portfolio. We want you to be confident that we will be a good fit for your project.
Next, we suggest you come up with some ideas and book a consultation to meet with us. Consultations are free. They are also a great way to talk out your ideas and form a plan for artwork creation.
Then, we will set up an appointment for you to come in and get tattooed. For custom artwork, we may need a couple days to draw it up.
If you need artwork drawn up or if you want a price quote, a consultation is necessary. If you know what you want and already have the image, You do not need a consult unless you are looking for a price quote.
A consultation is also important for custom work so that there is clear communication and understanding of what you want the artwork to look like.
We tend to work by appointment only. We do understand that sometimes there can be a bit of spontaneity in time for you to get a tattoo. We’ve been there too. Don’t give up hope. we may have availability or a possible cancellation. Just send us a message and we will get back to you asap.
The cost is determined by a few factors including size, placement, detail and design, plus the cost of set up materials (ink, tools,…etc.) Sometimes, if it is not a custom job, we may be able to gauge cost through message/ email. For custom work, we recommend a consultation with your artist.
Most appointments will require a deposit, especially if you need artwork to be drawn. The deposit is deducted from the price of your tattoo. You need to give 24 hours notice, if you are unable to keep your appointment or you will forfeit the deposit.
We prefer to tell you how much your tattoo/session is going to cost rather than charge hourly.
We like to ensure a level of trust is upheld. We don’t want you to feel that we are stretching out time to make extra money. We also do not want you to feel you need to rush the artist to keep it under a certain amount. This way everyone is comfortable.
For larger pieces, we work with you in splitting up the tattoo through a few sessions if it is more financially feasible for you.
Absolutely. We only use single use needles. We hold ourselves to a high standard of cleanliness and maintaining a sterile environment.
We do not. Our studio is 18+ only. Proper ID is required.
When you first come in, we will check you ID and have you fill out the paperwork. Then we’ll go over the artwork and see if there are any adjustments to be made.
Once the artwork is ready, we will size and position it. After the size and placement is set we proceed to get you prepped.
We will clean and shave the area to be tattooed. We suggest you let us do the shaving, to be sure you don’t nick yourself. (We cant tattoo over fresh wounds.)
Then we will print up a stencil so you can see the what the outline will look like before any tattooing happens. This will give you a final check to make sure everything is just right before any tattooing begins.
After your tattoo is finished, the area is cleaned and bandaged. Then we will go over the after care instructions with you and send you out into the world to show off your new ink.
YAY!
We suggest you have something to eat before you come into the studio.
Depending on where your tattoo is going to be on your body, you may want to bring clothing to change into during the session.
Make sure you have your ID.
We will not tattoo you if...
- You appear to be under the influence of Drugs or Alcohol
- You are under the age of 18 (Proper ID is Required)
- You are pregnant. It could be harmful to you and your baby.
- if you are on blood thinnners. (We suggest consulting with your doctor about your options.)
